I do not have any pictures handy but could share some found memories about horses.
I remember when I was yet a teen , I had an uncle who owned some horses, several over time, one of my favorites was named Prince, Prince was a half Stud (for those that know what that means, it didn't tame him any.) in spite of his high spirit in that area which some times caused problems near other stock, he was the gentlest horse I even knew of ,. One day I was riding him near a grave yard were it made a circle, when we completed the circle and headed home (he always new were home was and when he was going in that direction, and always galloped full steam till he got there) so about the time he got well into his full speed ahead I rolled underneath him and fell to the ground, scooting a bit ahead of him, the horse apparently had a high sense for danger and came to a full sudden stop with his left front hoof gently on my back and then lifted it and sat it down, standing there till I got up and re-mounted for the ride home.
Just a shared story were found memories tend to stick tightly through time.
O yea and as usual we got home with record time LOL

Great to see you here spyresearch!

My mom loved horses she had horse pictures and statues around the house. She was born in 1911 and said she was 16 before she knew someone who had a car. Amazing how things have changed in only 100 years.

My first time riding a horse was when I was very young, We went to visit two old ladies that were neighbors to my dad's parents. He used to go over and help them out with chores when he was young. They had a really old pony that hadn't done much for a lot of years. They put set me on the pony and he just stood there ( that was fine with me ) then they told me to kick him in the sides with my heals and tell him giddy up........

well that he understood and ran like the wind around the house and back to where we started out and dead stopped and put his head down to graze on the grass and I flew over his head and landed on my head.

After that I loved looking at them but didn't try riding one again for a while. When I did I made sure it was a big old horse that loved walking following a group of horses on a trail. I asked for one who didn't like to run. I had a great time that time!
