Aesculus glabra Willd. - Ohio Buckeye

http://www.cirrusimage.com/tree_ohio_buckeye.htm

Excelent information and pictures of the buckeye tree and leaf.

Dawn-Redwood - Metasequoia glyptostroboides

http://www.cirrusimage.com/tree_Dawn-Redwood.htm

The Dawn Redwood tree was thought to be extinct but then it was found in Central China in 1944. I have one of these trees and pictures of it, it is one of the pictures in my gallery picture posters...

Eastern White Pine Tree- Pinus strobus

http://www.cirrusimage.com/tree_eastern_white_pine.htm

I have several of these white pine now I thought they were short lived.. mine are dieing off... at about 20 years old.... but on this site it says they can live 200-400 years... so I was way off on that idea... but mine are turning brown and dieing off...

Pin Oak - Quercus palustris

Red Maple Tree, Acer rubrum "Red Sunset"

http://www.cirrusimage.com/tree_red_maple.htm

After looking around on this site I'm thinking what I was calling a Red Maple was really a Crimson King Mapel.. and looks more bronze... but may have two different kinds of them at least.. something is different between them and both are red and most of the year but the one does get more of a bronze color in the fall... the other stays more dark red.. not the light red of fall as in these pictures on this encyclopedia page....

Carya sp. - Hickory
Juglandaceae -- Walnut family

http://www.cirrusimage.com/tree_hickory.htm

Now this is a good one for me to pay some attention too because I have a domain name ...

HickoryTree.net

that I don't have any thing up on yet... so this one would be a good one to get started on links for my new site! They all have to get started some where with something, the sooner the better, but better get something up on it so it can get started, I can always add more to it as time goes along.

Hickory requires a minimum of 25 years to reach commercial seed-bearing age. 40-125 years is the best time for them to produce. Good seed crops every 2 or 3 years... Hickory is monoecious- male and female flowers are produced on the same tree. Flowers bloom April to May.

I'll have to find a lot more than that for a whole web site about Hickory trees...

Shellbark Hickory Carya laciniosa,
 Shagbark Hickory Carya ovata,
Pecan Hickory Carya illionensis,
 Bitternut Hickory Carya cordiformis,

Different kinds of Hickory trees...
