Puppy Bowl is one of Animal Planet's most popular shows. "puppy Bowl" parties are starting to be common. Some of the stars of this years show... Rascal, 13 weeks, a border collie mix; Mrs Roper, 9 weeks, a Labrador retriever mx; and Bruin, 14 weeks, an Alaskan malamute. Many come from shelters: part of the show's mission is to promote adoption via Petfinder.com.

The show is taped over 2 days and has a crew of about 30 people plus dog and cat owners, an animal handler, a veterinarian, and a representative of the American Humane association to oversee it.
