Wollemi Pine, a rare look at this endangered living fossil hidden away in a secret location at Wollemi Nantional Park, It was discovered in 1994. The bark is the color of chocolate bubbles. The biggest one is named King Billy and is 38 meters tall and several hundred years old. The Wollemi Pine has multiple stems "coppicing" many trunks from the root systems. The DNA of all the trees is identical like one giant organism. A forestry nursery in Queensland is cultivating them for domestic and export to help fund conservation programs. Don't miss 12 min video of one lucky man's trip to see them!

The Green Dinosaur or Ribbonwood or Idiot Fruit ( Idiospermum australiense) seeds of this tree has between 2-6 seed leaves. All modern flowering plants produce one or two. In 1971 the species was rediscovered because its fruit was turning up in stomachs of dead cattle. Read more about this Australian tree.........

Hardy Norway spruces found in the mountain range that separates Norway and Sweden. The cluster of trees are thought to be 8000 years old. A single tree trunk lives to be about 600 years old, but the spruces survived by pushing out another trunk as soon as the old one died.
