Learn about the legend of the Dogwood how at one time it was as big and strong as an oak tree, but was so sorrowful that it was chosen as the tree Jesus was crucified on, that Jesus said it would never again grow to a hight that a man could be hung on. It's flower petals would be in the shape of a cross with a nail print on the tip of each Petal. In the center of each flower there would be a crown of thorns to remind us of the suffering Jesus took in our place.
